Rapido database not a bak file?

Hey,

I've just downloadet the Rapido database, and was surprised not to find a .bak file inside the zip-package. Instead it contains a .bacpac, and renaming it to .bak doesn't do anything good either.

What's the idead of this .bacpac file? According to the manual, it should be a .bak file:

Hi Martin

It is smaller and you do not need the transactional data from the bak file anyways.

You can just import the bacpac: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/data-tier-applications/import-a-bacpac-file-to-create-a-new-user-database

Thanks, it actually did work :)

Was just confused by the manual saying ".bak", which I would have expected.

Merry Christmas!

I have the same question – its pretty confusing that the docs isn't up-to-date.

But when I try to import the bacpac-file instead of the bak file, it also fails. There is no backup set in the file??

It worked for me, just follow the link Nicolai posted:

"In Object Explorer, right-click on Databases, and then select the Import Data-tier Application menu item to launch the wizard."

But indeed they should update the manual.
