PNG images are not transparent in emails and browser

In the newsletters of our customer Pentair we make use of .png images so the images have a transparent background.

When we sent the newsletter we see that the images get a grey background in some emailclients and when you choose to view the email in the browser.

I have added some screenshots to show the problem.

Gmail – no problem > images have no background
Outlook app – no problem > images have no background
Hotmail (outlook mail live) > images have a grey background
View email in browser > images have a grey background

Hi Gerard

The background color comes from the template used. See dump. Pentair is not Rapido (or Wrap) so whoever made the template can fix it for you.
