Hello,

For our customer Holland Controls we made a cookie notifitication (https://hollandcontrols2.azurewebsites.net/) for analytic cookies.
I have some questions about it:

- Is this enough to be compliant from 25th of May?
- If I click through without acception I don't get an error or notification that I need to accept.
Wat is happening after I click through without accepting? Do we collect information or don't we?
- What if we are going to use tracking cookies, is the standard DW cookie notification still enough to be compliant?

Best regards
Gerard

Hi Gerard

No, I am pretty sure it is not enough. But I cannot advice you in this regard as I am not a legal advisor and there can be differences from country to country. But I know that the GDPR requires that you can say yes or no equally. Your implementation only has a yes, which is not compliant.

If you have setup Dynamicweb to not put tracking cookies without acceptance, DW will not set them.

If you use GA, you need to make sure you anonymize IPs - then you do not need to ask to track. See google Docs on that matter.

I am pretty sure that if you use tracking cookies or track IP (Which are defined as personal information in GDPR) you need "consent" - see this webinar for more info:

Hello Nicolai,

Thanks for your clear reply, I already followed the Webinar mentioned. Main question is: how do I settle this in the backend so that e are complient.
How do I set a Yes or No and how does it work if the client says No.

Is this always custom development or can I settle it within the standard functionalties in Rapido. Is there a demo or manual available for this?

Best regards
Gerard

Hello Nicolai,

Would you please send me an answer on this one as 25th of May is coming closer?
Most of our customer would like to settle it in time, but I don't know how (to set in DW) at the moment.
Is there a manual or something?

Best regards,
Gerard

HI Gerard

It is not super simple, I grant you that. Cookie manager explained here: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/documentation-9/platform/platform-tools/cookie-manager
You can see the setup of templates explained here: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/forum/templates/cookie-manager

You can find the templates attached. Unpack them to /Templates/CookieWarning or /Templates/Designs/Rapido/CookieWarning and apply them.

If you specify which cookies are tracking cookies in the cookie manager and enable it, they will not be set without the user have accepted tracking cookies.

This only applies for cookies set using the cookie manager in code. Dynamicweb cannot control cookies set by all kind of tracking scripts - technical issue, so you have to follow their guidelines...
