SVG in PIM/eCom

We are working on a Rapido based solution for a customer where we need to display drawings on products. We would prefer to have these drawings as SVG-files to be able to zoom in.

I tried to create a image pattern with a SVG filetype but it seems like DW does not recognize that pattern. And I cannot select SVG as file type when creating Asset Categories.

This makes it kind of poor choice of file type.

Have anyone here used SVGs in a PIM/eCom solution? Seems like I need to create a lot of custom stuff to be able to support SVGs in PIM project?

Regards / Aki

Hi Aki,

I have just quickly tested, and I'm able to get SVG images on a product using ImagePatterns (both old and new).

You can also add SVG to the file type list in Asset Categories. These are configurable and is taken from the GlobalSetting '/GlobalSettings/Ecom/Product/Details/Extensions'. Here you can just add SVG, and then it will show up in the list inside Asset Categories, but it should only be necessary if you want to limit which file types can be selected inside a specific Asset Category

Best regards,

Steffen
