I would request that viewmodes "List", "Thumbnails" and "Multi-edit" in PIM are changed to be included in Permission settings on User Group level, as complex solutions struggle to use Multi-edit, without performance taking a dive. As a minimum "Multi-edit" should be able to be taken out.
In addition it would be awesome to have the option to determine the standard view setting/columns in "List" for a user logging in for the first time. This would preferably be located in settings under PIM.
