We had a "request" from a potential PIM customer (with +3500 skus in 14 languages with around 85 feeds) which may be interesting to have in our system.
It's basically a Field Type of type "Expression", that would generate the data. For example:
- Field Name: Slogan
- Field Type: Expression
- Field Expression: "Under {{ProductPrice}} you cannot get a better product than {{ProductName}}! Get yours today"
This will help them generate some content using data from other fields. They also mentioned some if-else logic in case a value is empty or under a certain value. Obviously the expressions would vary per language.
We could do all of this in code and/or within a template, but with so many feeds/templates, it's unreasonable to manage a change.
