Use in URL - prefix / root for all URLs to pages in this website

Hi,

Setting a value in Use in URL does not have an effect in DW10 site, as it does in a DW9 site, see screenshot.

In the DW9 site it has effect in frontend on all urls, as the tooltip in backoffice says:

But in the DW10 site it has no effect in frontend either:

Best reguards,

Hi Peter

It depends on this setting - you can use either region or website name as the base - if you use website name, the "use in url" field from website settings will be used instead of the website name.

Hi Nicolai,

Many thanks for a quick answer. That saved the day for our client Unisport that went live today :-)

Hi again,

Unfortunately I just got aware from the client that it did not fully work for them with the custom prefixes.

The scenario is that they currently use these "special" site prefixes:

se_sv
no_no
fi_fi
dk_da
fi_sv

When we add the underscore instead of a hyphen in the url prefixes, the underscore gets removed in frontend.
They have tens of thousannds of URLs curerntly indexed in search engines based on the list above, so preferably they would like to keep them the same.

Best Regards
/Peter

Hi Nicolai,

Nevermind the last question. Based on some good AI summeries we have managed to convince the client that this is a good time to change old, bad url locale prefixes for all their URLs. So they go with the  default "Use region ISO code" and a lot of 301 redirects instead :-)

Best regards,

/Peter
