Segmenting users

Hi,

On this page two approaches to creating segments are described: https://doc.dynamicweb.dev/manual/dynamicweb10/users/segment-search.html?q=segment

On the first method called "Segment Search" it is noted that "Segment Search is dependent on a older statistics feature than Queries." this give me the impression that I might need to use queries instead.

But in Queries, I seem to be missing pre-defined fields needed for e-mail marketing campaigns like the field for "Behavior for Email Marketing"

Which method should I use best?

The one that solves your need best :-).

Segment search is currently being updated to run on the new statistics features.

Email marketing behavior fields are not related to above mentioned statistics though - so that is not a problem. Also those fields does not exist on the index as e.g. clicks and opens happens all the time and it is important that you have the latest data when using that to e.g. send out emails.

Right that makes sense. It would be awesome if a marketing user can have 1 way of defining a segment, regardless of how that segment is then resolved technically. (i.e these users don't really care where the data for segmentation is coming from, but just want to be able to create all segments in a consistent way)

Is that a new feature request, or wil that come with the updated segment search? :-)
