Keep editor open when saving templates

Hi there,

Can the editor be kept open (or open in a new window) when editing a template online? Here's my current flow:

1. Open a PIM feed and on the Feed Provider tab click the Edit icon for the template (but could be any other app's template editor)

2. Make template changes

3. Press Ctrl+S (doesn't work, would solve the problem if it did and kept the editor open)

4. Click the Save button.

5. Reload the feed. Realize you need more changes

6. Go back to the backend. The editor is now closed and I need to find it and open it again. Would be really nice if Save in step 4 didn't close it.

Possible solutions:

1. Implement Ctrl+S to save

2. Or, change the Save button to a multi-button with "Save" and "Save and close" where "Save" is the default.

Hi Imar,

Thank you for the findings.  I see the issue, and you’re absolutely right. I’ll do the following to improve the UX&UI flow:

1. Add Ctrl+S/Cmd+S shortcut inside the modal
2. Keep the editor window open after saving and show a notification message confirming that the changes were added
3. Explore the option to add a “Save & Close” button inside modals.
4. Increase the editor window size to improve workspace and readability

Hi Kateryna,

That sounds great. About the confirmation message: that's nice as well, as long as it doesn't get it in the way and needs action on my end to dismiss. If saving works as expected, I'll just know it saved when I pressed  Ctrl+s / Cmd+s so I'd don't to click another message to confirm.

Could be just a "Toast". So it provides the necessary feedback for the user without the need to dismiss it.
