Issues with adding links in HTML editor

Hi guys,

I have recently upgraded one of our projects to DW10 and we are starting to notice various issues with using the interface.

The first one I have noticed is the ability to add links in the Text editor.

The first one is that you can not select to open the link in a new window, the second one is that the inline dialog is not very intuitive when it comes to transforming a text into a link.

I hope this video will help: https://app.screencast.com/eZPmsAmdxEeEz

Thank you,
Adrian

One more thing,

I see a lot of javascript errors in the console:

Please keep in mind that this is a fresh install of DW, using the Swift folder and the database from a DW9 instance.

+1 to all of the above, and while we are at it, we would really also like the internal link functions back :)

Hi all,

Thank you for jumping onto DynamicWeb 10 and giving it a spin!

We are continually improving DW10 by adding new functionality and fixing bugs. Some things have a higher priority than others. We do want to add internal links in the rich text editor, but currently we only support internal links as a stand-alone editor.

With regard to the issues shown in the screenshot and video, I think there's something else going on there. I'm not getting all those errors and the link type dropdown works as expected for me. My guess is that it's your browser plugin that interferes with the behavior of TinyMCE -- the rich text editor we use. Try disabling it and see if you still experience those issues.

Hi Jeppe,

Thank you for the response.

I am using the same browser I do when testing with DW9. And in DW9 it works as expected.
I assume that any interference between the browser and TinyMce would still apply to DW9.

Thank you,
Adrian

That cannot be assumed. DW9 and DW10 use different versions of TinyMCE, 5.3.0 and 6.4.2 respectively. There can easily be different interactions across different major versions of the component.

Hi Jeppe,

Ok. I get it. You are right. If they are different versions, they would behave differently. That's why I have tried also in the Incognito mode.

Can you try replicating the exact combination of Row and Column as in my video? Maybe the issue is with that particular ItemType (Text). Or the combination of windows.

Thank you,
Adrian

I'm still not getting all the errors that you have in your console, but I can get the "Open link in..." dropdown to stop opening when the link is edited inside a slideover. I will investigate further.
