Hi,
In DW9 you can export products in a "DynamicWeb structure". Is this possible in DW10?
Also are there other Model Types that can be handy in this scenario apart from the ProductDataModel as a 'screen'?

The Dynamicweb structure is currently not an option in DW10.
I am not sure I understand your second question.
What are you trying to do - there might be other options.
Hi,
Will the Dynamicweb structure be on option in DW10 in the future?

Maybe. It is currently not in the roadmap.
What is your desried use-case? We would very much like to understand how you and your users are using that feature.
Right now we are in the process of working with the PIM users to understand what they are trying to do - taking data out of PIM, into excel, do something and import it back in indicates that we have missing features in the UI. So right now we are trying to understand these workflows and design tools inside Dynamicweb that can handle those tasks even better.
We are also generally working on improving import and export from the product lists in PIM.

Hi,
OK, at the moment I was mainly wondering because we have some demos coming up and I just wanted to know if it is a feature that will be added to DW10.
We have a customer that I think has used that feature a lot to be able to send the exported excel to people that don't have access to PIM.

Hi Aki
Thanks. Helps us design the right tools
We are working on the import/export - and that will help us here to understand how it is used.

Hi guys,
I am jumping on this thread as we have a very large customer using the PIM and we had to add a lot of custom functionalities in order to help them use it properly.
The Export part is a key element in our case. The Structured export is limited when it comes to large exports. For large exports we are forced to use Unstructured export.
In our case, the users use the Export for verifying and correcting data for large data sets. In some cases it is useful to have all the options with friendly names instead of optionIds.
@Nicolai, if you want to learn more about our use case, I would be happy to show it to you or Soren.
Thank you,
Adrian
Thank you for chipping in.
This is actually one of the reasons we did not move in this feature from DW9 as is.
We have several cases where customers export 1000s of products with 100s of fields each with dropdowns with 1000s of options. And it breaks.... 1000 * 100 + (10 fields with 1000 options for 1000 products) = 100.000 cells and 10mio options.... Yikes. We are not good enought to make that work :-).
So we are keen to understand "verifying and correcting data for large data sets" - what exactly are they doing here inside excel? Can we make a specific verify and correct these 100000 products using a well designed feature? Instead of spending endless times trying to move things in and out of Excel. That is what we are chasing.
If you can shed some light on what very concrete actions they take inside Excel would be nice to understand.
Thanks, Nicolai
