Data integration interface optimizations

Hi guys,

My first attempt to create a Data Integration job in DW10.
I have noticed 2 things so far:
1. If I select a destination column in a mapping, I cannot remove it anymore. I can choose another column, but I cannot remove the value in it.

2. I believe that Active and Key columns should be (by default) the first ones after the side checkbox, otherwise you can easily overlook them.

Thank you,

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

Why do you need the option to remove a destination column? By 'anymore', do you mean 'vs. DW9'? DW10 integration framework is very different, so do not aspect the precise same flow in things. We have tried to improve it, not just convert it.

If you want active and key columns to be the first one, then just change it in the action menu, then it will be the first one for all your mapping screens.

Hi Rasmus,

I agree that you don't need the option to remove the destination column as long as you can remove the entire mapping. The option to remove the mapping was hidden (and it is not clear from the mapping dialog that you can somehow get rid of it), and this is the reason I would recommend having the checkboxes for Active and Key visible in the first screen by default.
Just because I have the option to sort them, does not mean it is usable
You have indeed improved it, which is why I made this recommendation, for further improvement.

Of course, you will decide if it makes sense or not.

Thank you,

Adrian
