'Description' field missing in DW10 Connections UI

Hello,

It appears the 'Description' field is not available in the DW10 'Connections' UI - is there another way to display this field vs. updating it directly via the database?

Hi Melissa,

The description field is removed 3 years ago, I do not know why it is still available in the manage column screen, I guess it is because it was not removed from the data model / database. 

Do you have a specific need for it? And what is that? :)

Thank you for the quick response!

 

Makes sense; I didn't realize it had been removed from the admin UI in newer versions. We typically utilize the Description field in DW9 implementations to store the ERP environment URL for quick reference as our client teams typically utilize multiple ERP environments - see example below. This prevents needing to check the server or db directly to confirm the ERP environment URL.
 

Not a big deal, just wanted to know why it existed in DW9 UI + db, DW10 db, but not DW10 UI.
