Import users and groups from DW9 to DW10

Hi,

I'm about to import all users from DW9 to DW10

As I understand, if solution is upgraded the groups are added to the new AccessUserGroupRelation table.

From documentation: "The old @-format will automatically be migrated to the new table when upgraded."

But.. if the new DW10 solution contains a new group structure.
I can export the users and prepare the excel with new groupids, but they are not included in the import.

How are the best way (the right way) to import?

Hi,

When you're upgrading from DW9 to DW10, all the users will also migrate properly with their relations to AccessUserGroupRelation.

However, if you have some users which doesn't exist yet, you should still be able to import them with the UserProvider and either create a column mapping to AccessUserGroups, the provider should take care of the rest. If the user being imported should be in mulitple groups, they should just be comma separated.

Hi Frederik,

I have imported users with multiple groups from scratch. No upgrading.

All users show up in All Users. But are still not added to any groups..
Then I mark all new users and add them to a new or random group.
And now all my multiple group settings are updated automatic and all is as it should be.

I tried to import with comma and @. Both worked.

After running the import job, ensure to reset the user and usergroup services.
