Trying to use master product name as facet

Hi. I am trying to get use a variants master product name in a facet, but there is no built-in field (as far as I can see), that contains this value.

Is it possible to defined a new index field where one can specifiy "ProductName where IsVariant = false" ?

Hi Steve

That is not possible. Also using the product name as a facet might be a problem due to performance. So if you have many products in the index (>2048) the facets will run into an issue. This is due to how facets work in Lucene 3 that is used on DW9.

This is different on DW10 which uses Lucene 4 and another facet implementation.
