Hi Adrian
I tried to gather your questions together
1. What happens when I save a Column or a Row? Where is it saved?
- When you save a column or a row as templates in will be saved in the folders called 'Paragraph templates ' and 'row templates' in the tree struckture (See IMG 1)
- The pages are the category name and when you click on it you can see its content, which are also the saved presets you see in the panel for both Rows and columns.
2. Can I restrict the Rows and Columns available, based on The Page ItemType?
- Yes you can restrict it under Settings/Itemtypes/Content/ContentPage click on Restrictions on the ribbonbar (IMG 2)
3. How do I activate "Visual Editing" on another page type? Is it the ItemType? Is it the Template? A setting?
- To activate your templates, you should ensure that your templates supports grid .
- Add the following to the template in the same place where @Model.Placeholder would be/is: @Model.Grid("grid", "Grid", "sort:1", "Pages")
- In Rapido you can see out row definitions and row templates under Templates/Designs/Rapido/Grid/Pages and you can see our paragraph templates under Template/Designs/Rapido/ContentPage/Paragraph
4. How can I delete the default saved presets for Columns and rows?
- If you want to delete the design demo examples I have created you simply just delete the Pages under 'Paragraph templates' or 'Row template' folder as shown in (IMG 1)
5. Can I have different presets for different ItemTypes?
- Yes you can have different row/column template/preset designs for different itemtypes. I have made some examples in the fashion site in the Row and column panel.
- You can do it by using 'Save paragraph as template' and 'Save row as template' inside the Visual editor. You will see an icon for saving it as paragraph (IMG 3)
- However, saving a Row or Column as templates / presets can only be done for Admin and Administrator users
More documentation regarding Rapido content model using Visual editor can be found here. We will update this page with more documentation the following weeks.
Also we have a plan over documenting Visual editor in general outside the Rapido environment.
