GoogleTagManagerID value results in error on product links

We are having trouble using the website settings field "GoogleTagManagerID".

When we define the id as either "GTM-XXXXXXX" or as "XXXXXXX", the result is an error in product links in the product lists. All product links go to /shop/null.

When leaving the GoogleTagManagerID field empty, all product links in product lists work again.

So what is the correct format for the GTM ID?

How do we make the GTM work?

Thank you in advance,

Hi Jens Jakob

I have seen the same when using an ad-blocker. Do you happen to have one of those?

Hi Nicolai,

I suspect the issue could occur when using an ad blocker. But actually I experienced it the other way around :-)

I tested in my Firefox, which is set to content blocking for e.g. tracking, so I block for GA, GTM etc.. In this case I did not experience the issue with broken links. It all worked fine.

I tested in Crome, IE11, Edge, Safari (and in Firefox without content blocking), and in these browser tests the issue occured.

So it would seem, from my perspective, that something goes wrong when using the "GoogleTagManagerID", or when using it the wrong manner.

The question is how to use it correctly.

ok, thanks for confirming.

It is our implementation that needs to take that into consideration - the gtm tracking and navigation should not be dependent of each other.

We will look into it!

Hello Jens Jakob,

We've found the reason for this problem and the way how to fix it. I've created new TFS issue #62195 for solving it. Will be fixed to the next hot-fix release.

Thank you!
