Logo compression in rapido

I use the template tool, under apps->websites->website and logo settings to upload the company logo. The logo is large, with 300ppi resolution and 1024 width and x height. When uploading the image, the file gets blurry. I found a thread in the forum, referencing to developer->bildebehandling (norwegian translation) and there I have a field for compression. It is set to 75. However, it is not obvious to me if this means 75% compression where 100 is fully compressed and 0 is no compression, so that the smaller number, the larger file I'll get.

Further more, I cannot find a save button and ctrl + S does not work.

please advice.

Hi Siv

I am not able to answer why "ctrl+s" does not work.

Regarding the compression. I am sorry about the confusion. Yes, we do always compress images on Rapido. The reason is that every bit counts, when we try to optimize all that is delivered on a modern website.

From Rapido 3.0, the specific compression setting for the logo is found in Templates/Designs/Rapido/MasterBlocks/HeaderBlocks/Logo.cshtml You can replace this Block with your own code using this guide: https://doc.dynamicweb.com/rapido/development/blocks/example-7-replacing-a-block

But I would strongly suggest that you take another approach. To make the very best quality of the logo, and give an imporved expirience, you should use a vector logo in the format of .svg I am quite sure that most of the large website does this today. If your customer can not deliver a vector logo for you, sometimes, if the logo consist of clean surfaces, it may be possible to convert the logo. The best option I know of is in Adobe Illustrator. Choose "ImageVector", and then try the different options. There may also be fine online tools that can handle the conversion. But I have no experience with those.
