Page is loading slow when sending in a form

Hi, 

We see that in different sites the page is really slow after filling in and sending the form and then going to the thank you page. You directly get the e-mail, but the page is still loading. 

We updated the Azure plan for some of the websites to let it work faster and that helps for the pages, but only not for the forms. 

Is there a way to let is load faster?

Hi Manon

When submitting the form, the time is primarily spend on sending emails. If you have the setting "Do not use SMTP pickup directory" set in the SMTP settings, submitting a form takes longer. That happens because the mails (receipt to user and mail to website owner) has to be delivered to the SMTP server. When not having that checkbox set, the mail is written to disk and handled by the server afterwords. But it requires pickup folders to work - which they might not on Azure.

There is not much we can do about it - just make sure you use a really fast SMTP.

Hi Nicolai,

We keep strugling with this and customers are complaining. Are you sure it is an SMTP issue?
I filled in forms in DW processes (sign up for summit of vote for solution of the year) and had the same experiences there.
