News v2 templates missing

Currently working on a new website and I haven't used the News v2 module yet, but it seems exactly what we need. For your reference, we started out with a clean DynamicWeb installation.

The News v2 module is available in the admin side of the website, but there doesn't seem to be a default template available. When looking at the documentation (http://manual.dynamicweb-cms.com/Dynamicweb-On-line-Manual/Modules/News-v2/Paragraph-settings/News-list.aspx) it states:

The template HTML files are located in your File Manager in the folder /Templates/NewsV2/List.

Yet, the  /Templates/NewsV2 directory doesn't exist. It seems quite a lot more effert to develop a template from scratch, using only the te template tags documentation than creating a one based on an existing template.

Can I get the default News v2 module template from somewhere and/or why isn't it there in the first place?

Hi Tymen

You really should not use the news module for new websites. You should use items and and item publisher instead.

Apart from that, you can find all templates in DefaultEmptyData.zip that you can download here: http://developer.dynamicweb.com/downloads/dynamicweb-8.aspx

Hi Nicolai,

Thanks for the quick reply. Makes a forum worth it.

Alright, thanks for pointing me in that direction! Already had a look at the item publisher, so going that way. Makes sense why the News v2 tempalte folder isn't available.
