My carousel items are not area culture specific, WHY ??

I created a carousel based upon the DynamicWeb sample http://items.dynamicweb.dk/en-US/Frontpage
It has an items component where the images can be added to the carousel itself.

So far so good ... It works fine and looks nice ...

Our client is translating the site and when he translates carousel item properties they change in the default language as well ...
They don't seem to be area culture specific, WHY ??

I'm not sure how this master-detail itemtype works, but it doesn't seem to work as I would think it will do ...

In my attachment "CaptureCarousel.PNG" it shows when I changed the Title of the second carousel image to "Toelevering DUTCH" in the Dutch Area, in the German Area the Title changed as well ...
It makes the whole carousel useless this way ...

I included the item types and the carousel template as wel.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
DynamicWeb Denmark refuses to help me on this matter ...

Hi Peter

I have tried to reproduce your problem with item lists on Master/slave sites and I can reproduce it if I copy an item list with content from the master site to the slave site (copy is enabled in Management center) and then edit the content in the rows in the slave item lists. I reproduced this in 8.3.1.16.

We had a bug in copied item lists and this bug is fixed in 8.4:

http://developer.dynamicweb-cms.com/releases/dynamicweb-8-4/bug-fixes-8-4.aspx

Bug: 13815
Area: Content - Items
Title: Changes in copied item list fields changes both original and copied item list

I upgraded my test site to 8.4 and tried to reproduce the same issue as before and in 8.4 I can´t reproce it any more.

I hope that an upgrade to 8.4 can help you to fix your problem.

If this doesn´t help, we would like you to provide us with an URL to the site in order to check your setup. Maybe you can help us with information about how the item lists are created on master and slave sites (created directly, copied?)

Kind regards,
Merethe

locally I updated to DW 8.4.0.8 and I still experience the same problem.

I set a carousel items item in the default language to Dutch (NL) content.
Then I switch to another language area and set its content to German (DE) content.
When I switch back to the Dutch area the content switched to German as well ..

I attached a video to show my handlings.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?
I must interprete something wrong here I guess, but I can't figure out what ...

As an answer to Merethe, the area was copied to a new language site.

Hi Peter

I'm sorry that you still get the problem. Now I have tried with language master and slave and you can see here what I do:

Can you localize any different in the setup?

Maybe you can try this hot fix (my test is based on that) where there are a few fixes in the language management functionality?

Hi Merethe,

Thanks for your reaction.
Unfortunately I didn't get a notification that a response was given to this thread, so I noticed it a bit late ....
I've tried with the 8.4.0.16 application, removed all child-items and started adding them again ... and surprisingly it works fine now ...
Must have been a bug somewhere which is solved now ...
Thanks for your help, I can plan an udate for out client now :)

Peter.

OK, it seems that when you copy an Area with such an item-items object you have to delete all child items.
When you change exising child-items it doesn't work.
When you delete all existing child-items and add new ones it seems to work fine ...
