Set user password, when creating user at the checkout

Hello DW guys,

When in Cart-Information step, it is not possible to create new User at the checkout.

in paragraph Cart module I have selected create new user at checkout.

 

My question is, how can I assign a password for that user in Checkout information step.

<!--@UserManagement:User.NewPassword.Input--> is not working here.

 

And small additional question, when this user exactly is created, is it after successfull payment, or is it created before shop hits payment gateway? What is transaction was canceled or unsuccessfull?

Hi

 

Try this:

 

  • Select the default template InformationCreateUser.html in step 2 in the paragraph settings for Shopping cartv2 (template attached).
  • Enable the "Create user during checkout" in the User Management section  in the paragraph settings for Shopping cartv2.
  • Select a user group where the created users should be created.
  • Save paragraph settings and go to frontend and create an order.
  • Select "Save me as customer" and fill user name and password + details.
  • Checkout
  • Now the user is created in the selected User Management group and also logged in in frontend.

Use version 8.3.1.x in order to get latest bug fixes in this functionality.

 

The user is created during checkout. If you e.g. cancel the order from DIBS, then the user is still created.

HI Merethe,

I got also stuck with the same issue even though i have all the settings as u described but still its not working ?? i am using DW 8.4.1.11 is it a bug in this version?

Hej Umar,

I didn't get this one to work, maybe if I would put some more energy into it, maybe I could get it to work, but I am pretty sure it should be OK.

Don't think it's a bug, I have seen it at work.

 

if you get it to work, could you please share your template?

Would appreciate that allot :)

Hi Dmitrij,

Yes Offcourse, I will share soon as it starts working :) but i just came across the bug fix list for 8.5 and the problem is listed as a bug. Here is the link

Ok, well that is unexpected. Thank you very much for sharing that!

Workaround: Use the Create user form in the step before the checkout step. That is exactly what I did :-)
