Vital bug: UserManagement

A small bug renders the user-management list useless.

If the option of showing users and groups in sub-groups is not selected, the module will only show users directly attached.

If you have a list with only 1 group attached, the module will not show any users in the list regardless of using html or xslt templates.

If you check the "Medtag undergrupper og brugere fra de(n) valgte gruppe(r)" option, it will show users in the list again, but now it also shows users from any sub-groups. And I don't want that. I want it to show a lost of all users, in ONE group on ONE level, without having to assign individual users.

Hi Peter

QA will look into this tomorrow. If it is a bug, we will of course fix it.

You can make it work, you just have to go backwards to go forward... See attached image

You need to chack that you want everything, and then after that, you need to set it to only 1 level.

Much like having to put a car in reverse to start it.

Hi

If Include subgroups and users from the selected group(s) is NOT selected, then it ONLY lists the groups and/or users that are selected in the select box.

When it is checked then it shows the users in the selected groups and the subgroups to the groups. If you have more than one level, you can enter how many levels to display.

Kind regards,

Merethe

I'm sorry, that is not correct.

It will list users, but not user in a selected group.

  • Users in a selected group are not sub elements, they are the contents of the group.
  • A group in a group is not a sub element either, but also content.
  • A user in a group in a group IS a sub element.
  • A Group in a group in a group IS a sub element .

Dynamicweb also defines it as such in its own strange "DW-logic" way, since selecting a group and checking the option to show sub elements, but limiting the setting to 1 element = 1 level = flat = on same level. Will get you a list of users in a selected group.

If you only select 1 group in the list, the list should display all users in that group.

The way it is set up now is counter intuitive. Like requiring a car to be in reverse, before you can start it.
