 Hi,

Does anyone know if the custom productfield will work in some future release?

Does anyone have other solutions for ackomplishing a custom field of type edior?

Hi,

We don’t have plans to remove custom product fields. In future releases they will work as they work now.

About a custom field of type editor. Provide please mode details, maybe a use case, what exactly you need.

 When you create a custom field for products in Management Center you can choose a type for it. One of the choices is "Editor".
If I create a custom field of  type "Editor" it will not render any editor when I edit a product.

Hi Aki,

Did you check the Details tab? AFAIK, Editor custom fields are rendered with the teaser text and description on a separate tab...

What version of Dynamicweb did you try this on? I just tried it on 19.2.0.8 and it seems to work fine.

 Just tried it with 19.2.1.4 with the same result as with the one not working above.

The label is there but no field.

If you look at the EcomProducts table in the database, can you see your custom field there as a column? And do you have an on-line URL available so we can take a look?

Hi Aki

I just reproduced your problem in 19.2.6.0.
It's in norwegian backend that the editor doesn't appear in the Description section.

We had a similar bug (5581) with editors in swedish backend and this bug is already fixed for DW8.0. I have checked on DW8.0 and it works here for norwegian too.

The workaround is to create the custom product field of the type editor in an english backend. This editor works in all languages (visible in Description section).

Another workaround is to use the "new" Product Categories that you can attach to specific groups (the field is only available on the products in this specific group) instead of showing the field on all products in ecom :)
