gallery - how to open a pdf in a new window

we have a pdf catalogue, using the new Gallery module. (lower right corner) and I would like to open it in a new window - but i'm not so strong in changing/adding something in the javascript. Its the PageFlipFullScreen template which is used here.

I hope somebody can help me, and I guess it's a change to the template, that will be needed often, and shoud be standard!

Remember opening a new window will in many cases result in being caught by window pop-up blockers of the browser. And the full screen view of the pageflip template behaves almost as a new window.
