Check if file exists

Hi,

How can I check if a file exists in a folder (not a .xml file - so I cannot use "document()")?
It is not possible for me to use the file publishing module, as the module Datalists is already attatched to the article.

I hope one of you have a quick-answer for this little issue. (Does not seem like I can import the java library, java.io.File, which would have been my solution to this.)

You want, using xslt, to make a check if a file exists?

Not sure that is possible without extending xslt in some way.
