New ecom navigation

Reply

After a long wait for the navigation feature showing (dynamically) sub-groups within groups --

I am trying to implement the new dynamic ecom navigation on some extisting solutions .. and I looks like it should be so easy, and yet I still haven't figured it out.. I found this video http://documentation.dynamicweb.dk/eCommerce-navigation-30173.aspx and that's helpful on one half of setting up the menu, but I cant figure out how to set up the menu .. in the templates/page/navigation .. If I'm to use this at all ..

Please hlp out here .. / Ditte

Hi Ditte

Let's give it a go ...

1. Have you created a regular XML/XSLT navigation going from level 1 to 'Nothing selected'?

2. Have you selected the productgroups on the page settings ?

Do you have a link for the website ?

OK .. lets go ..
saintropez.net.dynamicweb.dk
Ill mail you the login ..
In sandbox I have a page called COLLECTIONS xslt  ..
and I use the menu with tag name dynamic_menu
Now What I dont get is what XSLT file do I use to do this .. and maybe I have missed something vital in understanding this ..

Hi Ditte.

All your pages are set to be 'not displayed' in the navigation.

Sandbox > Collection XSLT and so on.

If a page is set to be not displayed, so are the children to that page.

And you can also use the regular liclean.xslt, not the old ugly ecom xslt files.

OK .. how come i get a DB dump when I choose show in menu ..??

I have tried like you said on COLLECTIOS xlst  .. using the liclean.xslt temlate and so far .. I do get the login page to show ... so it looks to me like it is showing me pages .. but nothing from ecom .. . whatever am I missing?

I am trying to get the ecom groups showing in the menu .. much like the existing on the solution .. but with the added feature that the subgroups will be shown under any given group ..

I don't know why you get a DB dump when you try to show the page in the navigation.

But the ecommerce groups are not shown because they are children of hidden pages.

Well the page 'copy of COLLECTIONS' is not hidden from menu .. and yet no ecom groups there either .. ?

Feel free to show me how it's done ;-)

Well, since your navigation starts in Level 1 and all subpages to that are 'hidden' the XSLT cannot get any further that Level 1.

That's why you only get the Login page.

But I just tried to set the starting Level to 3 and then I got the DB dump again.

I think you need to get the support to look at this DB dump.

Hi Sebastian

Thanx for your help so far :o)

I'm taking over from here.

We have filed a case at helpdesk now for them so look into this.

We expect them to set it up according to whatever set of rules that the developer have defined and make it work ;o)

Now - it would be VERY nice if some kind of written dokumentation was available describing whar to do and what NOT to do and what to expect..

Do you know of any such document ?

Hi Sebastian

We're now away from dumping - so now we can proceed.

The page now shows both the Page and ALL ecom groups with ALL subgroups as well. What i would have liked, was that it showed ONLY the COLLECTIONS eCom group and from there i could unfold the the submenus. (groups)

I

dont want the top page to be shown either..

How to to that ?

I'm using the latest LICLEAN.XSLT from the update folder.

Hi Lars

Good.  Now take a look at the page and tell me if the right navigation is ok.

I've did some small modifications to the liclean.xslt

Hi sebastian

It now seems to work ok in COLELCTIONS also in produktion.

But i have reopened the case 60178 in helpdesk as there seems to be some problems with the other pages + assortments.

I hope you have tom to look at it...

Hi Lars

It should be fixed now on COLLECTION and BASIC.

I've made the template so generic that it can be used an all your ecom navigations on this solution.

Hi

I have now implemented the same XSLT templates on all product pages, and they works fine on the top page - eg on COLLECTIONS, BASIC, SALES etc.

I have also cleaned up and are now using the one template (ST_LIClean_ecom.xslt)

THANKS :o)

I just cannot figure out why i doesn't work on the subpages eg COLLECTIONS_SUB, BASIC_SUB etc.

Those pages come in play when a user clicks on an item/style on the main page.

It worked on COLLECTIONS and COLLECTIONS_SUB yesterday.

Now i have created an ST_LIClean_ecom_sub.xslt for the subpages, but it still shows nothing...

What to do ??
