Channel specific attributes

Hi,

I'm wondering in a DW10 context, what can be considered a best practice for defining channels specific attributes.

For example when I have Channels:

-Amazon

-Google Shopping

And I would like to be able to seperately maintain a Product Title attribute for each channel.

I see at least 2 possible options.

1: Define an attribute group "Amazon attributes" and directly assign the Attribute group to a category group in the Amazon channel

2: Define an attribute group "Amazon attributes", create a Data Model "Amazon Data Model" with the Attribute Group attached, Assign that data model to all products I want to publish to the Amazon Channel

Both approaches seem to be technically possible. Is one or the other more "In line with the DW PIM Philosophy"?

Thanks,

Justin

I think both approaches are fine. I think it is more depending on prefrences, workflow or specific needs in the implementation - personally I lean towards your option 1 - since using the datamodel approach is more leaning into also using datasets which probably does not make sense in this context.

Hi Justin,

I definitely prefer your option #1 ..

It's because that information typically has nothing to do with a data model, and attributes only appear on the product when it is assigned to that channel.

But of course, it may depend on what enrichment workflow your customer wants to use.
