Integration batch jobs run twice although these are scheduled to run daily

Dear All,

We have the integration batch jobs which are scheduled to run daily. Among these jobs, some of the jobs run again as soon as the jobs finish running successfully.

It happens not daily but on some days and also not all the jobs are happening but some of the jobs are.

Can you all please advise some possible reasons why these jobs run again as soon as they finished once successfully and althogh these jobs were scheduled only for daily and whether is there any impacts because of running twice?

Thank you!

Best Regards,
Nyein

Hi Nyein,

I bet that you have two Windows task scheduler tasks running. Since your timestamps overlap, a second instance may be starting while the first one is still running.

You can check by looking on your web server, in Windows Task Scheduler, in the Dynamicweb folder. See if you have a duplicate job. If so, delete one of them.

Hi Scott,

Noted with Thanks.
Not every jobs happen like that but only few jobs runs twice and it happening not every day but on few days.
May I know if there is also different reason for this case?

Thank you!

Hi,
maybe you have the same Data integration job selected in the two scheduled tasks that run one after one?
Kind regards, Dmitrij

Hi Dmitrij,

This happens not on every day and we have also checked that same data integration is not selected on two scheduled tasks.

Thanks & Regards,
Nyein

Hi Nyein,

I don't know for sure, of course, but what you're mentioning sounds like 2 scheduled task runners. If you recently moved the site to another server, there may be an old one running on an old server. And that explains why it's intermittent too. It's a race condition where sometimes it hits the exact right time where the duplicate request doesn't get handled correctly, but other times it may be fast or slow enough to work correctly.
