Additional grouping of ProductCategory fields

Hi guys,

I have mentioned this request in various occasions or direct discussions with DW team, I guess it is time to formalize the request.

We have seen situations where products have a bunch of ProductCategory fields assigned but that simple assignment is not enough.

My specific example is for computers where you would want to group (for display purposes) the fields into subcategories. For example some of the fields might be grouped into Processor, Graphic Card, Peripherals etc.

This is an example form a Magento solution:

Tab "Specificatii"

And this is from Prestashop:

I hope you understand my point and you can see the practicality of this request.

Thank you,
Adrian

Hi Adrian

I understand - but cannot find the tab you refer to... Anyways, I understand the request and agrees that we should have something similar. We also need the same field to be member of 2 different product categories, i.e. "width" which could be member of many categories.

We will consider this for 9.7 - thank you for the input.

Hi Nicolai,

It would be ideal if a field can be part of multiple product categories. It would save a lot of trouble in managing the fields but also in managing the facets later on.

Maybe a module to Aggregate the fields into groups and subgroups might solve it? Just thinking out loud here :)

Thank you,

Adrian
