Dirty Data Checking

Hi,

Following modern trends and UX features, it would be nice for DW to have a dirty data checker prior to saving most of it's data:

  • Pages
  • Paragraphs
  • Users
  • Products
  • Items

This would be a simple check upon the user clicking "Save" or "Save and close" to see if the "version" of data his browser loaded is still the most recent one. So if 2 people (on an integration job) are updating the same User or Product at the same time, updating different part of the data, the last one to same does not override anything the first person updated.

If that's the case, instead of actually saving, it should alert the user that the content has been updated and that he should confirm the override and/or reload the page (ultimately having to redo his changes if needed) or simple "close".

Best Regards,

Nuno Aguiar

That would be a nice feature - taking a year or 2 to complete. Will get started right away...

I figured :)

I don't expect it to be developed for DW9, maybe DW10, but having that in mind at some point would be a nive UI feature.
