Add related products - enhanced search options

Hi,

We have customer with thousands of products being synced from the ERP, but the Related Products are only set in DW. Currently the Related Products feature makes it really hard do use. His request is:

  • Ability to search for multiple values at the same time
    i.e.: ProductA, ProductB
  • Ability to only search on a subset of fields
Usually the product number and product number is enough - right now searching for the product number returns a lot of results because they are very abstract numbers that are found in other fields, returning too many results

Best Regards,

Nuno Aguiar

Hi Nicolai,

  1. This customer has thousands of products, so he requested the ability to search for an array of values.
His scenario is that he has 10 products to search assign as related - they don't share similarities. He has to
    1. Search products 1 by 1
    2. Select the products from the result list
    3. Hit Save/Apply
    4. Re-start the process for the other related product

Imagine if he has 30 products he wants to set related products... this becomes very complex and time consuming

  2. Great, thanks

So he wants to search for

"Blue tshirt", "red giraf", "awesome car", "nice and easy massage chair"

and that would give us 4 or more results? and apply them all?

Hi Nicolai,

Yes, that's his request. But once you mix request 1 and 2, it makes sense that they can search 3 or 4 product numbers.

I can't see 1 to make it - it would be impossible to make to understand and work. Maybe seperated list SKUs.

Hi Nicolai,

Sure separated list of SKUs is fine. We typically map SKU to DW's ProductNumber, that's why I used that terminology. Whatever field we choose, would be useful.

Thanks,
