Auto-recycle when installing/updating app

Hi,

 

When installing new apps, is there a way to tell DW to recycle the app pool?

 

We have some custom apps that need to register some services and application components, and when that happens we know we need to recycle the app pool, but that's not always obvious. I was wondering if there's a way to do this, even if that's a manual step in the UI. Or maybe this is only available for instances hosted in DK.

Hi Nuno,

At the moment, we don't have a mechanism that can automatically recycle a solution after installing an app. We are investigating ways to accommodate something along these lines, but it's not in place yet.

It's tricky to get right as it's highly coupled to the hosting environment, IIS vs. Kestrel vs. Docker/Kubernetes -- including the various flavors of those inside different cloud providers -- they all vary to some extent. However, if you're hosted in the DynamicWeb Cloud, you can manually force a recycle.
