Using Presets in ItemType fields

Hi guys,

I have tried my hand on the new "presets" feature and I have a few questions:

1. Can it be used in regular Paragraph or Page ItemTypes or just in Website Settings?

2. The JSON definition for the Preset, should be created manually?

3. I have tried creating it manually and the only thing I could not figure out was the value for the field "Id". For example the value "164" on the "Preset_Icons_Icons_solid_-_Font_Awesome_(free).json" preset.

I believe this can be a pretty powerful way to automate and control various settings combinations even if the Presets have to be manually created.

Hi Adrian

You can enable the feature for item fields of type "Item type" - so all items can have this feature.

When enabled, you can save a preset to json.

Hi Nicolai,

I am trying to use it in a Paragraph.
I have done that activation part and all I see is an image with a "+" sign. Clicking on it does not have any impact except for a page refresh.

I have tried defining the folder manually in the Items folder and create a JSON file for the preset. After this step, the "+" sign image has been replaced by another image. Which made me think it detected a Preset correctly. However, clicking on it has no effect. Neither clicking on the 3 dots in the top right corner. I am thinking about some interface error?

Hi Adrian,
Presets indeed were initially implemented to work with website settings.

I registered a task to enable them for Pages and paragraph items too. It will appeared in nearest hotfix.

JSON definition should be created automaically.

The feature task regarding Presets for Pages and paragraph Items has been added to horfix 9.6.10

To upgrade please choose this version from download:
