The option "Item type usage" does not report on item types that are used as named item lists on pages. Step to repro:

  1. Create a new item type, enable it for all purposes and locations in settings and in restrictions. Add one field to it
  2. Go to a page, choose Properties, click Advanced then Item Lists
  3. Set up a named list using the type from #1 and add some data to it
  4. Go back to the item type under Settings | Item types and click Item type usage.

Expected outcome: the report shows the page from #3 as a place where the type is used

Actual outcome: the report says the type is not in use.

Note: the report works fine when you use the item type as, say, a paragraph.

Hi Imar,

The ability to show usage an item type in named item list has never been worked - you can test it on DW89 as well, so it's feature not yet implemented but not a bug. Usage in 'Itemlist' consides usage in item relation list (now broken, bugged by TFS 48910)

I dont mind if we call it a bug or a missing feature ;-) What's important is that it's currently confusing. "Item type usage" implies it'll show you everywhere the type is used. Currently, you could delete an item type thinking it's not in use, which could then cause lots of issues. Does 48910 also cover named item lists now? Or should a new enhancement request be filed?

Thanks!

Please, submit the new request to appropriate category of the forum. 48910 is against of existing usage in Item relation list now broken on DW94.
