How do i delete a product in PIM

Sometimes, products get imported by mistake - due to wrong data in NAV, and we need to delete these products from PIM, as our import only updates products.

How can i delete a product in PIM? Oddly, I can´t find the delete function.

Right-click the product should work:

It's also possible to get products deleted by the integration, when they no longer is available i NAV or other sources.

There is no delete option. Is this some configuration that is wrong or missing?

That could be because you only have "Edit" rights as a user.

I am logged in as Administrator. That should give me the rights to delete?

@Hans, why isn't there any PIM warehouse?

The products you have imported are probably associated with an Ecom warehouse, so it might not be possible to delete the product from PIM.

Hi

we publish there from queries, to webshop. We didn´t see the need to have a warehouse, when we only publish to webshop? Is it needed? What would be the benefit og having the proucts in a warehouse?

Even without a warehouse, the products can be deleted in PIM through queries or "All products".

However, I second the notion that you should include a warehouse for these reasons:

- A query structure is likely to crow very complicated over time without a plain group structure to support it

- Your options of scaling are worse off without a warehouse, since you loose a level of inheritance that is channel wide

- Completeness rules are optimized for the warehouse group structure

- You can't apply a product category structure efficiently without a warehouse

- Queries require a certain knowhow from the customer, whereas the warehouse (with group structure) is quite easily used and adapted

Building a DW PIM without a warehouse, is in my opinion, like building a house without a foundation. It requires a serious upkeep and it might come tumbling down at some point.

@Hans, try check your Ecom warehouse, the products must already be there, without any publishing.

A PIM without a PIM warehouse isn't a PIM. So if you want to publish products based on queries, the products need to be in a PIM warehouse.

Regarding warehouse -

The problem for us is and was, we didn´t want for our costumer (PIM editor) to  first have to publish the products to a warehouse and then publish them to a shop, because that seemed redundant. The group and product structure of the warehouse and the webshop would be 100% identical on all fronts, so it would make sense if could configure the webshop to mirror the warehouse, but that is not possible - is it?

Regarding the products

I find the products,  and would expect right click on the product in the list to give me the option to delete it, but that option does not appear. I am logged in as Administrator. I wonder if it is a bug in version 9.12.3?

You can copy the ecom structure to PIM if you right click on the warehouse in PIM:

It's not dynamic, but it's a start.

I tested the missing delete option on a generic administrator in PIM, and it works for me on 12.3. Have you checked the Permissions settings for the group you are in?

Brilliant, thank you Kristoffer 👍🏻

Does copying the group structure mean that in from now on, it will be enough for the costumer to publish or put products to either the warehouse or the shop, or do they have to manually maintain all products and make shure they are in the right group in both the shop and in the PIM warehouse? No way of configurint this to be maintained automatically, when placing a product in either a PIM group or a Shop Group?

Will do :) Regarding settings of group I am in? Do you mean usergroup? Or PIM group?
