Display ProductCategory Fields on master product

Hi guys,

I have a project that is using PIM and Variants. We have also a couple of ProductCategories attached to the product Groups in PIM.

When editing the product, I could not find a way to display the ProductCategoryFields on the Master product but I could display them on the Variants.

Some of these fields have to be filled at master level and only some of them are editable at VariantLevel.

How can I make these products available in the Master product details?

I have already tried selecting all fields in the "Visible Fields" screen.

Thank you,
Adrian

There you have it.

If the field has a checkbox on change across all variants, the field will show up on the variant and not the master.

Exactly, but it could in many cases could it be usefull to have an inheritance from master to variants.

Hi,

Some of these enrich functions described above, can be maintained in GridEdit.

Each field are represented as a column, and you can use filtering to have a selection of Variants there should be updated with equal values..

Below you have examples of following scenarios, based on Screendump below ..

  • Fieldvalue should be the same across all Variants, then chose “Set values” in Column-menu.
  • Update values on “All Orange” variants. Make filtering on Variant name, and then chose “Set values” in Column-menu
  • Individual values per Variant, can be updated directly on the Grid-cell

I hope that helps you

/Søren

Hi guys,

I have a new question about Families, ProductCategoryFields and Facets.

I have a project where I have a lot of product families attached to various ProductCategories.

Some of the fields are editable at Family level, some are Children specific.

The approach is to always display the children in the product list (no Families in the list).

My problem now is with facets where I want to use some of the fields that are documented at the family level. I have set the Queries and the facets correctly, but the values of those fields are not inherited by the children and as a consequence, no facets show up.

I hope there is a way of forcing an inheritance of these fields to children for indexing/facets purposes.

Can you guys point me in the right direction?

Thank you,
Adrian

Nevermind.

I have found out that the import generated empty values for the ProductCategory fields that are defined at Family level. Cleaning up the table solved the issue.

Sorry for the noise.

Adrian
