Does anyone know what this button does?

When I click it it shows the files from my Items folder (as that's what my provider is configured to look at) but I have no clue what the result list is telling me. Is this just a list of all available items? The docs say "select and continue to skip the comparison step" but that still confuses me.

Yeah, that's what the docs tried to tell me too ;-) Is that for a "deploy all" scenario where you don't care about what's out there already?

Yes.

This tool was developed as a development tool for moving new development up stream. Not an authoring tool distributing pieces of content to different installations.

But I have noted the whish for a content deployment and syncronisation tool as well.
