When editing a field in the Product categories, there is a button to convert the field to Reference field. The button "moves" the field to a reference category. This way, the field is removed from the current category and created in the Reference category.
This action means that the field data is lost from the current category, as the field doesn't exist anymore in the original category.
We think it would better to create the Reference field WITHOUT removing the current field. For us, this is our standard requirement. Normally, we use this button because a field that belonged only to one category, now it has to belong to several categories (includind the old one).
