Hi guys,

I am wondering if the ImageHandler supports Webp with alpha transparency.

Thank you,
Adrian

Hi Nicolai,

The link you have suggested does not have the format=webp parameter.

If you add it, it just sets the canvas color to white:

Thank you,
Adrian

Good point.

Then it does not support the alpha channel. I guess you knew!

Hi Nicolai,

I was unsure. I was hoping that the documentation missed the use of transparency since webp supports alpha channel transparency.

It seems that webp with transparency is a lot more efficient than plain png.

Will you consider it for future versions?

Thank you,
Adrian

Hi Nicolai (or Morten),

I know there's TFS #81941 to address this, but it's "In progress" for a while. Is this expected to be Done for the next release? We have a customer that would like to get this on their solution too.

Best Regards,

Hi Nuno,

It will be fixed as soon as possible and should be part of the 9.9 release.

Best regards,
Morten
