We have recently updated a website from DW 8.9.2.0 to DW 9.8.4 but it looks like the 'Exact URL for this page' function is not working anymore. We have a 'contact' page which is a child of an 'about us' page. On the contact page we set the Exact URL for this page to 'contact'. But when we visit the page by /contact it doesn't show the contact page but the homepage instead. (Even though in the URL bar is still shows /contact)

Another issue which might be related to this issue. When we visit the page from the DW dashboard with the show page function it does show the contact page. But as soon as we remove the '&Purge=True' part from the URL it doesn't get transformed into a pretty URL but the 'Default.aspx?ID=xx' stays there. The page is still working fine. The 'Location and page name' URL type option is enabled.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

The feature does work - see my dump.

It might be other settings - like the domains attached to the website, the primary domain, you have another page called /contact, missing 404 handler setup. Since you do not get a redirect when accessing default.aspx?id=123 indicates that your working domain (backend access) is not in line with your website domain settings. And then DW will not do the redirect when logged in.

The reason you see the frontpage could be that you have set that up to be the default 404? You can check the headers of the response which will say something like from "404 handler"

Check it out - otherwise our support will have to look at the settings.
