Set Email permission with Forms for Editors

Hey

So I am trying to use the Forms for Editors to create a newsletter form signup, to simply a process for a customer who will have many different kinds of newsletters. Now first of the consent module and the option to pick which consent is given seems to work, though it creates 2 rows for 1 signup (of the type; Email and User). So that is fine.
However - my issue is setting the email permission field to true when the user signs up, they get added to the correct group, but the checkbox remains unchecked.

So is there something here I am missing? It does not seem like the marketing module will let me send emails without it set, even if it the "Ensure consent is given" box is selected for the given consent.

Hi Claus

In the form you can create a checkbox - that is the one where you select which consents it should give. Then also map the checkbox field to the emailallowed field using the "Auto value". See my dump. Then both consent and email allowed should be set.

Hi Nicolai

That did indeed do it, however it feels a bit counter intuative, the automatic values are normally used to fill the fields based on logged users data, and as I do not want the field to be automaticly filled out based whether or not the user have given overall email permissions, wouldn't it make more sense to have this as an option in the dropdown consent field? - of if you don't want 2 buttons then add is as a hidden option or similar?

Hi Claus

It was chosen so email allowed and consent was 'compatible' and that you can use the same field for email allowed and consent. Also checkboxes can be used for other types of consent that is not related to emails. So they were seperated, but can still be combined.

But yes, the re-use of automapping is VERY secret. We want to ensure your write with us in the forums :-).
