Favorites List - Product ID Issue

We have discovered an issue for when a product is saved to "Favorites" and then a change is made to the product (for example, added to a variant family).  Thee product ID changes - therefore, creating an exception error.  The favorites relationship is not updated, therefore, causing an error on the site.

Here is an example (on 9.7.4):

Thank you,

Hi Oleg

What release do you need to have to fix this issue?

We have a customer running 9.8.9, which is experiencing this issue.

Hi all,

Actually, the issue has been fixed by TFS 72727 on DW9.8.8 and up. The feature provides impossibility of creating new product family or variant via 'Combine products' using products belong to favorit list(s). The products are excluded from family or variant created, appropriate notice appears during the creating.

Dear Oleg,

Thanks for the answer. Do you have plans for fixing the issue? Or is this "by design"?

Best regards,

Anders

It's "by design". If a product has already been added to a favorite list you'll need to remove it from there before doing something as drastic as adding it to a family

Dear Morten,

Thanks for the answer even though our client does really not accept or like the answer. Do you see some sort of possible work around for us?

Hi,

We recognize that there are a need to expand this functionality, when you combine's a product with Favorites-links.

Have created a Developer task (#86088), where we will implement functionality, to remove "Related links" automatically, if you continue Combining.

This feature will be implementet in DW9.9.x, when it is ready.

Best regards

Hi Søren,

What do you mean by "Related links"?

Hi Keerthy,

With "Related links", I mean the Product-reference there are in "Favorites-list".
